Hi Colin....you recently answered my reply re: paper used for a stamp printed in Victoria in 1860 and I realised my initial response was probably not explicit enough. That particular stamp was printed on 5 different varieties of paper of which one was paper sourced from T.H. Saunders. The THS paper is distinguished from other printings by the watermark. Printings on THS paper were watermarked with the value of the stamp in words. Other printings either had no watermark or were printed on paper sourced from De La Rue. The DLR paper was watermarked with the value of the stamp in large single-lined numerals. 2 for the stamp of 2 Pence value and so on. This explanation does depend on the accuracy of my Stanley Gibbons stamp catalogue.....(hope this helps)...cheers andrewh
